Adios 2013, Hello 2014!

Ok, seriously….what just happened?  Did the holidays just absolutely fly by or what?!

We are almost heading into the second week of January and here I am just trying to catch up.

Well, in true Edelson fashion, we had a jam packed month of fun (mostly).  Early on in the month I flew out to Washington to take care of our rental property.  My hero for the month of December (and always for that matter) = my Papa Vic….seriously.  That guy helped me out beyond words, comprehension, expectations, etc.  Love him to pieces.

Had to add these to our ornament collection.  GO HAWKS!
In addition, Ellie was lucky enough to hang out with the man in the red suit not once, but twice.  She did surprisingly well with the whole sit-on-a-strange-man's-lap-and-take-a-picture thing.  The first time she met him was during our Polar Express train excursion with some Coastie friends.  The girls had a great time and it was helpful for Ellie to see all the other kids sit on his lap beforehand.

Santa came to visit at Dave's unit.

We also took a trip up to NYC for our cousin's graduation from the Westchester County Police academy.  SO, SO, PROUD of her.  Ellie was not about to make it though the 2.5 hour ceremony.  She stayed quiet long enough to see Emily cross the stage and then we bolted for the lobby to run stairs and make new friends :)

On Christmas Eve we had a fun time with the cast of the Housewives of Fort Dix (minus 1 special momma).  The girlies were so cute and had fun exchanging gifts.  Christmas Day was very relaxing for us.  It was the first time we have spent it just ourselves without traveling or having company in a LOOONG time.

The day after, the HWOFD took the kiddos to Sesame Place.  This place is AMAZING…..as long as you can handle Elmo at every turn, ride, game, and cafe.  It's so well done with kiddie rides, shows, and entertainment and the girls absolutely loved it.  I just wish it weren't so cold out.  It would have made it so much more enjoyable if we weren't freezing our tushies off.

Lastly, NYE.  Now, don't be jealous of our NYE festivities.

It's too bad she didn't have any fun :)

"Midnight" countdown with confetti, bubbles, and dancing.

Yep, that's right.  The toddler gym:  My Little Adventures.  It was our 2nd annual NYE trek to this gem of a place to give Ellie a chance to burn off some winter time energy.  I love this place so much that we even reserved it for Ellie's birthday (yeah….it's in October….).

Anyway- back to the grind with work, school, and Everyday Edelson happenings.  I'm really looking forward to 2014 and all the exciting things to come.  Vacations, births, weddings, graduation (woo hoo!!!) and so much more.

Wishing you all a warm winter and fabulous New Year….Make it a great day!

XOXO,
The Edelsons

  2. Oh my goodness is that a hot pink bicycle under the tree?! Lucky girl! I got a bike one year, too, and it is seriously one of my very favorite Christmas memories ever! I'm so glad you guys enjoyed the holidays, and well done Ellie for not screaming at Santa Claus! :-)
