On the road again....

Sunny-Snowy-Sunday for Skating
neighborhood pond on Cape Cod

Two of our very good friends were recently hospitalized following cardiac issues.  I know they were going through a lot, but it was even hard for us to deal with it all being far away.  So we decided it was time to head back up to Boston and the Cape to visit.

We packed up the car and our sweet little thing and headed off to Mass.  First stop, Louis' Lunch in New Haven, CT (Yale University).  We first heard about this place on the Food Network last year sometime.  They claim to be the birthplace for the hamburger.  So of course we had to go :)  There isn't much on the menu except for hamburgers, cheeseburgers, potato salad, chips, and pie of the day.  I pretty much tried it all (except the chips) and hands down- my favorite part- the strawberry rhubarb pie!!!  I can never pass up that stuff and I was so glad I didn't this time either...delish!!

The three upright stoves on the left are used to cook the burgers.

We then scooted across the Mass Pike and into Boston to see the Pieroways.  I love this family.  Ellie is lucky enough to have two new Pieroway friends making their debuts this year.  Hillary Pieroway is having a GIRL and we still have a few more weeks before finding out what Jess is having.  For the first time in forever, the 6 of us went out to dinner sans babies.  We all had a great time, just wished we didn't have to leave so we could do that all the time.

The next day we went down to the Cape to visit Ellie's BFF Bella.  These girls were hilarious together! We snapped a lot of pictures...sorry!

Kisses :)

I got you!!

Later on we went to my friend Lisa's house.  She was my old boss at the surgery center on the Cape.  Since she was still on the mend from surgery, we brought over tons of food and started cooking.  We had Korean Ribs, peanut chicken, stir-fry and noodles, and garlic green beans.  I even had an extra bag of ribs for them to freeze.  It was hard seeing her in pain and not her normal self, but I'm so glad she is doing better. Before we know it she'll be back at it running and killing her previous times :)

There are always a ton of people we want to see and say hi to but time just limits us.  Now we are back home, unwinding, and gearing up for the big game this weekend.  Hope everyone has a great week!!!

A little this and that

Well, we've been all over the road lately, here in the Edelson household :).   A little of this and that, you know....shopping, football, birthday parties, surgery, new teeth, reading, etc.

We found a good deal at IKEA!

Yeah, another surgery for the Edelsons....what's new.  Ha ha.  Ellie finally got ear tubes so we are hoping that's the end to her ear infections.  Quick, and virtually pain free, it's a simple 5 minute procedure in the OR.  The next day she was tugging on her jacket by the front door...so off to school we went.
Snoozing on the ride home =(

Speaking of school, love Ellie's teachers.  She has learned so much in the past few months.  She's coming home showing us a few simple sign language words, says about 5-10 words, can understand a lot more, does a little hand dance to itsy bitsy spider, and follows commands pretty well.  I just love that she learns so much everyday.

The girl loves big kids so much!  It's too bad she doesn't have a big brother or sister ;)  We went to a friend's son's 7th birthday party....so. many. kids!  But we had a fun time.  Thanks Fosters!!!

Being entertained by the boys

Momma Foster including Ellie in on the fun

We've also been watching a ton of football.  Go Seahawks!!!  Hopefully we can pull out another win today.  We are all ready to go.  Got the Seahawks flag up, our gear on, and cookies to munch on :).   May the best bird win!!!!

My 2012 in Review: xoxo, Ellie Reese!

Hey Y'all!  I'm baaacckk!!!

What a year....I did so much this past year that I wanted to review it with my peeps.  Here it goes.

January- 3 months old and loving life!
I had just come back from flying for the first time to Kansas City.
Mom was still home with me but we were getting ready to start school in a few weeks.
Sleeping through the night and mastering tummy time!

February-  Had my first solid-  Bananas.  Still one of my faves!
                 Sitting up with some help.
Lots of play time with my BFF Bella.

March-  Took my first road trip to Philly!
Found out we were moving to New Jersey later in the summer.
Hung out with momma in the sunshine...it's one of her faves!

 April-  Had my first Easter.
Got a little crazy in my walker.
Started sittin up like a big girl.
Went with my BFF to get our ears pierced!
            Started swim lessons.
Went to the beach for the first time.

May-  Happy Momma's day!
Auntie KK came for a visit.
Went to my first Red Sox game and got my rally cap on!
And went to my first wedding at Chatham Bars Inn.

June-  Happy Daddy's Day!!!
I was baptized at my parents fave lighthouse on Cape Cod.
My momma turned the big 3-0 so I helped my dad with her present.
We sold my house and moved to New Jersey, but not before hanging out with my familia in
          Washington and Oregon .

July- Started to crawl!
Settling in to my new crib on Fort Dix, NJ

August-  Checked out the Jersey Shore
Learned about sharks at the Camden Aquarium
I started talking up a storm

September-  Picked Apples
Started driving momma nuts and scaring the poops outta her by climbing stairs and
                    standing up against things.
                    Celebrated Bella's 1st Birthday!

October-  I turned 1!!!
I started walking 1 week before my birthday.
My first Halloween costume was Sushi!!

November-  Said Bye-Bye to my great-grandma.
I had my first trip to NYC for Thanksgiving!
                    Got my first teeth...molars!

December-  Went to Hawaii
                    Had a fun Christmas
Met a strange man in a red suit!

I've grown so much this month!  I weigh 23.5 lbs, can clap, play peek-a-boo, can show you my belly, toes, hair, and teeth when asked, say momma, dada, no, bubbles, and uh-oh!  My favorite foods are fruits, veggies, shredded cheddar cheese, and yogurt. I wear size 18 mo and a 4 in shoes....which I'm obsessed with.  I'm also in love with pens (for real....the girl loves pens).   I just got over a double ear infection so I'm ringing in the New Year by having ear tubes put in.  I hope it helps me with my infections.   Plus, now that all my molars are in, I just cut my bottom front teeth this week.  So much going on!  I hope you all have a great week and a wonderful start to the new year.

XOXO,
Ellie Reese
